This week we are so excited to interview Ashley Gann, CBS 42’s Chief Meteorologist! One of the things we hope to accomplish on Belle Curve is to foster community and conversation through the stories and experiences we share here.

In the interviews we’ve done thus far we’ve talked to Anna Claire Vollers of AL.com, who shared her investigative journalism on the perils of being a mother. You can find that fascinating discussion on Episode 6. In Episode 9 we talked to Javacia Harris Bowser about taking her side hustle as a writing coach full time. And in Episode 12 we talked to Vickie Gasellschap who made a major career change in mid-life and lived to tell the tale.

Also, as our name implies, we’re three women who like to get a little nerdy from time to time and dig just a little bit deeper into the science of our wonderful world.  So, on that theme, we are thrilled to share today an interview with chief meteorologist at CBS 42 in Birmingham, Alabama, Ashley Gann.

Ashley is a graduate of Auburn University with a degree in Aerospace engineering and long-time meteorologist at Alabama News Network (formerly WAKA) in Montgomery, before moving up to Birmingham. Ashley earned her masters in Meteorology from Mississippi State and holds the prestigious Certified Broadcast Meteorologist seal of approval from the American Meteorological Society. As wife and mother of 3, Ashley enjoys spending time with her tribe, mostly at football games and camping (but not in a tent). When Ashley isn’t tracking storms, you can find her at home improvement stores, the park, or her church: Shades Mountain, in Vestavia Hills.
